State Championships
With the boys and girls sweeping the Region 3 AAA Championships last weekend at St Xavier the teams set their sights on
the final meet of the season. Saturday June 5th will mark the final meet of the 2010 season and both teams will be
represented well throughout the day. The boys team qualified individuals in 15 of 18 events with 8 of those events having
2 representatives. Of those athletes the Bulldogs will have the #1 seed in the 100, 200, Long Jump, Discus, 4x100, 4x200
and the #2 seed in the 200, 300IH, Shot Put and 4x400 relay. The boys look to win their 4th straight and 30th overall State
Championship for Male High School and will need every athlete to do their part to accomplish this task.
On the girls side the Lady Dawgs will have representatives in the 100, 200, 800, 100H, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800 relays,
Discus, Pole Vault and High Jump. Though they dont have any #1 seeds many of the ladies have outstanding
opportunities to place in the top 3 spots. The ladies will relay heavily on the relays as they have an outstanding chance to
place in top 3 in the team standings.
The coaching staff would hope that every member of the track program this year and those from previous years will come
out and support the boys and girls on Saturday. For complete meet coverage visit www.kytrackxc.com and www.khsaa.org

Catching Up-Eastern Relays, Male Master Schedule and Jeffersonville Invitational
This past weekend the boys and girls squads competed in the high powered Eastern Relays at the University of Louisville.
Despite being called early due to heavy rains and poor weather the Bulldogs produced some outstanding marks without
the aid of many 12th graders. A number of boys established season best marks including Mike Patterson (TJ), Cameron
Levis (SP,DT), Royce Donovan, Walter Moffitt, Desherion McBroom and Darian Moss (300IH). The weather cut the meet
short prior to the 800M and also eliminated the boys LJ, girls TJ and HJ and boys PV. In Friday action at the Eastern
Relays representatives from Male won the JV 100 on both the boys and girls side and the distance crew saw several
seasonal best marks in the 1600 and 2000M Steeplechase. Nathan Lane (11th) held off a charging Rikus Vanzyl in the
final 50M of the Steeple to hold onto and improve his school record in the seldom contested event.
This week Male will host its final meet of the season with a Master schedule meet on Thursday (yes the same day as the
parade) at 4:30. For many athletes this will be one of their last meets of the season as the teams begin preparing for the
Regional and State Championships.
Next week the boys will have two high powered meets as they travel across the bridge to Jeffersonville for the Jeffersonville
Invitational on Thursday 5/6. The meet features some of southern Indiana's top teams in a boys only competition which is
set to begin at 5:00. Entries for Jeff will be posted later this week. Also next week is the North Hardin Invitational in
Radcliff, KY which will bring the girls back on the track for the second to last Invitational of the season. The Invitational is
also one of the final chances for coaches to see who will be representing the teams at the Regional Championships.
